The Gloucester Fishermen defeated the Scottish Claymores, 4-3, in 10 innings in Imperial League action at Paul Moots Stadium. Gloucester pitcher Richard Cervantes had a standout performance. The Fishermen raised their record to 51-50.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 23-year old second baseman Tadaaki Wada had a chance to be the hero. Scottish pitcher Isei Yano wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Wada hit a sacrifice fly. The Fishermen had themselves a thrilling win.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Wada.
