|
Kauai beat Lana'i City at Brewers Ballpark, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Javier Pacheco. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Ben Corbett, who threw 110 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 1 hit. The Monsters improved their record to 31-47 with the win over Lana'i City.
With Kauai leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first, Pacheco hit a curveball from An-yi She for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Monsters ahead, 6-0.
"I know we have our doubters," said Lana'i City manager Butch Corrigan. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
