Toman Swings Hoops to 7-4 Win
The Hilo Hoops defeated the Maui Mahi-Mahi, 7-4, at Kokua Gardens. Hilo third baseman Sean Toman had a superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Sadao Takahashi, the winner, improved to 5-5. He held the Mahi-Mahi to 4 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. With the win, Hilo has a record of 37-39. Maui falls to 31-45.

Toman made an early impact for Hilo when he stroked his 14th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Hoops on top, 5-1.
