The Atsumi Autobots got a superb performance from pitcher Marc Sexton, but the Kilauea Volcanoes still won the game, 4-1. Sexton threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Reliever José Blanco picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Marc Sexton, who is tied for 6th in the HL with a 9.3 K/9 rate, took the loss. Joyo Lubis finished the game for Kilauea and earned his 4th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Kilauea, had it not been for Yoshikazu Iida, the 21-year old third baseman . Iida contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Kilauea up, 3-1.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Iida, "one at-bat at a time."
Kilauea is last in the Hawaiian League Archipelago with a record of 18-59.
