The Kailua Hanso took Lana'i City pitcher Frank Comelay's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Blue Birds Ballpark. The final score had Kailua getting past the Pineapples, 6-5. Comelay went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 4. Dennis Cochran, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-3. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. With the win, the Hanso have a record of 40-33.

The Hanso were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 21-year old first baseman Jorge Figueroa landed a big blow. He turned a full count fastball from Félix Pérez into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Blue Birds Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Hanso home with a thrilling 6-5 win.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Figueroa said, postgame.
