Mitchell Clubs 2 Home Runs in 8-4 Atsumi Win
|
Atsumi designated hitter Gabriel Mitchell contributed significantly to his team's 8-4 win over the Yasu Storks. Mitchell went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Autobots. Marc Sexton, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held the Storks to 3 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. The second-place Autobots hiked their record to 38-34.
Atsumi grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Mitchell hit a grand slam home run off Yugoro Hirose. His 11th home run of the season put the Autobots out in front, 7-3.
Atsumi manager John Gray was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
