Vulcans Earn 4-3 Win Versus Coconuts
|
In a tight contest at Recoil Stadium, the Mauna Loa Vulcans edged the Waikiki Coconuts by the score of 4-3. Mauna Loa left fielder Adrián Casas, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Robbie Lane finished to wrap up his 18th save. With the win, the Vulcans improved to 40-29.
Ty Raines went 3-4 with 3 singles for Mauna Loa. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brad Cooper. It was his 55th RBI of the season.
After the game, Mauna Loa manager Juan Flores applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
