Maui Mahi-Mahi starter Sumitomo Kawai pitched his team past the Ewa Beach Imperialists, 9-1. The second-place Mahi-Mahi go to 31-36.

Mauro Rosales had a big 2-run home run for the Mahi-Mahi in the top of the fifth inning. With Maui leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Lowell Green, who is tied for 5th in the HL in strikeouts with 88, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mahi-Mahi ahead, 4-1.

Mahi-Mahi manager Eddy McBride had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
