The Osakasayama Swamp Dragons got a stellar effort from pitcher Rick McPherson, helping Osakasayama score a win over the visiting Mauna Loa Vulcans, 3-2, in 11 innings. The Hawaiian League Ninja-leading Swamp Dragons have a record of 39-28.

Rudolf Tuk did his part for the Swamp Dragons, producing a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the game, the center fielder was 2-5 with a double.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Shingen Okamoto, the Osakasayama skipper. "This one tested us."
