Pineapples Get Past Maui, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Juan Rúbio pitched well enough to help the Lana'i City Pineapples beat the Maui Mahi-Mahi, 4-3. Lana'i City is 4th in the Hawaiian League Archipelago with a record of 30-33.
Elvin Nichols came through with a big-time hit for Lana'i City. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Juan showed what he's made of," said Lana'i City manager Dale Orcutt.
