|
Led by Harry Hansen, the Ewa Beach Imperialists defeated the Mauna Loa Vulcans, 8-4. Hansen was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Imperialists. Alejandro Solano, the winner, is now 6-1. He struck out 3 and walked 3 over 7.1 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Ewa Beach has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Manny Muñóz had a big 2-run home run for the Imperialists in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Ewa Beach trailing 4-3 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Yukichi Wada and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Imperialists on top, 5-4.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Ewa Beach manager Jonathan Cook.
