The Shirakawa Halberds could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jorge Aguilar into a win. Instead, the Lana'i City Pineapples prevailed, 4-3. Aguilar threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball. The loss makes Shirakawa 20-42.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Lana'i City pinch hitter Brett Chapple, facing Francisco López, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Pineapples the 4-3 win.

Chapple called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
