The Calexico Reins spoiled a good performance by El Cajon catcher Aiden MacChrystal, bumping off El Cajon, 5-4, at Ballpark of El Cajon. MacChrystal was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Su-gyung Chom went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the BCL in quality starts with 14, struck out 2 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 6-6 this season. Phil Brewer got the save, his 3rd in 3 chances.
Calexico relied on the hitting of Zhi-qiang Zou to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reins on top, 3-2. For the game, Zou had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I still think this team can play even better," Zou told the Calexico Chronicle.
The win elevated the Reins to 55-45.
