Kingpins Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
|
The Iowa City Kingpins weathered a fine game by Lincoln right fielder Sung-ho Kang to upend the Emancipation, 3-2, at Emancipation Stadium. Kang went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Kingpins sport a record of 39-63.
Iowa City used the hitting of Stéphane Mathieu to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kingpins on top, 3-2. For the game, Mathieu had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Mathieu.
