The Sioux Falls Lakota beat the Henderson Fighting Scotts by a score of 5-0. Sioux Falls catcher Brian Phipps deserved the lion's share of the credit. Phipps went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times for the Lakota. Mark Thomas earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. His record is now 5-0. The loss makes Henderson 58-45.
The Lakota got a big at-bat from left fielder Kazu Morimoto. For the game, Morimoto went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Sioux Falls a 2-0 lead.
