In a low-scoring tilt between the Lincoln Emancipation and the Kyoto Rodan, Gary Ross, who is tied for 2nd in the RML in complete games with 2, was the difference-maker. The Lincoln right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win in 14 innings. Otte Overgaag picked up his 1st save of the season. Lincoln is now 51-48.
Ross, a native of Morgan Hill, California, was dealing all game. He kept Kyoto hitters off-balance, while giving the Emancipation 8 quality innings. Ross threw 104 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Ross, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
