Halberds Get Hard-Earned Win
Led by Yuan-zhang Cuan, the Shirakawa Halberds downed the Lana'i City Pineapples, 7-6. Cuan hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Halberds. Chip Hernández picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Maarten Groen suffered the loss. The win gives the Halberds a record of 19-41.

Darryl Blackwell delivered a big hit for Shirakawa. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Halberds ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
