Hoops Lose, 4-2, as Fireflies Rally

The Fireflies grabbed a win, 4-2, at Blacksnakes Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Hilo pitcher Sadao Takahashi. Takahashi went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win was credited to 21-year old left-handed pitcher Tyler Brown in relief. His record improves to 4-3. George McKinley took the loss. Albert Hayes was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 12 save opportunities.
Kobayashi took a 4-2 lead on Javier Antúnez's 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Antúnez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hilo pitcher George McKinley visibly frustrated.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Antúnez.
Kobayashi sits in second place in the Hawaiian League Ninja at 33-28.
