Spirited fans greeted the Kobayashi Fireflies for their clash with the Hilo Hoops.

Starting pitcher Misao Samurakami pitched well enough to help the Hilo Hoops beat the Kobayashi Fireflies, 7-3. The winner was Samurakami. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was William Cooper.

It could have been a different outcome for Hilo, had it not been for Alex James, the 21-year old left fielder . James contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Hilo up, 4-1.

"Misao did a nice job," said Hoops manager Ray Gilbert.

With the win, the Hoops have a record of 30-30.
