Behind a fine performance from Corey Smith, the Kobayashi Fireflies knocked off the Kilauea Volcanoes, 8-2. Smith hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Fireflies. Addy Wemerman earned the win for Kobayashi. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 5-1. Kobayashi used the timely hitting of Gabriel Béltre to capture the win. The third baseman socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fireflies ahead, 7-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
