|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Yunosuke Matsumoto, the Osakasayama Swamp Dragons defeated the Kailua Hanso, 5-2. Matsumoto went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Swamp Dragons. Toyonobu Ohayashi, the winning pitcher, is now 6-2. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 3. Ángel Dávilo got credit for the save for Osakasayama. It was his 3rd of the year.
With Osakasayama leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Matsumoto hit a splitter from Luis Núñez for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Swamp Dragons ahead, 3-0.
