The El Cajon Virus and Salton Sea Kilmers put on quite a show.

The El Cajon Virus overcame a good performance by Salton Sea second baseman Chris Challinor to knock off Salton Sea, 7-6, at Kilmers Ballpark. Challinor was 3-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. The win was credited to 21-year old right-handed pitcher Pedro Cantre in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Carlos Rincón took the loss. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Ingo van Houten.

Scott Escobar drew 4 walks for El Cajon. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Carlos Rincón. It was his 40th walk of the season.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Escobar. "It sure beats the alternative."

The Virus go to 51-47, putting them second in the Baja Cali League SoCal.
