The El Cajon Virus downed the Magami Ako, 2-0, at Ballpark of El Cajon. Stellar pitching by Luis Miranda had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Miranda, now 1-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no runs. El Cajon occupies third place in the Baja Cali League SoCal at 48-45.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Magami trailing 2-0, Dan Parker needed to get a big out. On a 1-2 fastball, Mitchell Courtenay struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
