Scottish catcher Jack Thompson had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Thompson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times, even as London beat the Claymores, 7-6. The third-place Underground are 83-71.

Manuel Ramos chipped in for London, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Scottish manager Germán Hernández. "But we decided not to take it."
