In the 7-4 Scottish win over Hartford, the impact of John MacVurich was substantial. MacVurich, who finished 3rd in the SL in extra base hits with 76 in 2039, hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Imperial League Trans Atlantic-leading Claymores are 91-59.

MacVurich had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Ronaldo Hernández, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Claymores a 5-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for MacVurich.

"If it's down the middle," said MacVurich, "you might as well hit it."
