Padilla Now 16-12 After Beating Thoroughbreds
In a tension-filled contest between the Scottish Claymores and the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, pitcher René Padilla was superb. The Scottish right-hander, who finished 4th in the SL in innings pitched with 218.1 in 2039, spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Keiji Honda sewed up the save, his 17th. The first-place Claymores have won 4 in a row.

Padilla threw well for Scottish, thwarting the Kentucky offense. The right-hander tossed 108 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 3 hits.

"Losing is tough," Kentucky manager Francisco Pérez lamented. "We've got to get out of this rut."
