Multi-HR Day for Raines as Vulcans Overpower Volcanoes, 9-5
|
Benefiting from Ty Raines's productive game, the Mauna Loa Vulcans downed the Kilauea Volcanoes, 9-5. Raines belted 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times for the Vulcans. Mario Valentín got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Kilauea has now lost 5 in a row.
With Mauna Loa leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Raines hit a fastball from Caden Charles for a 3-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Vulcans ahead, 4-0.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Raines.
