The Kauai Monsters could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tomás Blanco into a win. Instead, the Waimalu Nene prevailed, 5-4. Blanco threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. With the win, the Nene improved to 25-20.

Waimalu got a knockout punch from Julián Gil. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Gil described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
