Shirakawa had no answer for Osakasayama Swamp Dragons starter Shaun Colby, who flummoxed Halberds hitters as the Swamp Dragons cruised to victory, 6-1. Colby, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The losses continue to add up for Shirakawa, having now dropped 8 straight.
Osakasayama used a clutch at-bat from Yunosuke Matsumoto to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Swamp Dragons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Different night, same tune, unfortunately," said losing manager Enrique Ortíz.
