Fireflies Take Home 4-0 Win Over Shirakawa
|
Pitcher Addy Wemerman was sensational for the Kobayashi Fireflies in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Shirakawa Halberds. Wemerman earned the win. Wemerman, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Nobuhiko Osawa earned the save, his 1st, for the Fireflies.
Glen Joseph, who is tied for 2nd in the HL in doubles with 10, chipped in a solo home run for Kobayashi in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"Addy throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Kobayashi manager Eduardo Gonzáles.
The Fireflies, now 20-20, know that wins in June count the same as wins in September.
