The Kailua Hanso cut down the Hilo Hoops by the score of 9-3, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Zak Armistead. Armistead belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Hanso. The 4th-place Hanso bumped their record to 22-17.

Phil Williams had a big 3-run home run for the Hanso in the bottom of the second inning. With Kailua leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ray Bernard and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Hanso on top, 5-0.
