Imperialists Spill Halberds, 7-2
|
The Ewa Beach Imperialists topped the Shirakawa Halberds, 7-2, in Hawaiian League action at Halberds Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ewa Beach pitcher Tsuginori Sato. Sato, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Ewa Beach, at 23-14, occupies second place in the Hawaiian League Aloha.
Ewa Beach used a clutch at-bat from Manny Muñóz to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Imperialists ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Tsuginori was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Ewa Beach manager Jonathan Cook.
