Takaoka Makes It 7 Straight with 7-4 Win
Calexico wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Mario Mercalo, falling to the Takaoka Shiko, 7-4. Mercalo threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Takaoka reliever Pedro León was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Tsuyoshi Yano took the loss. The Shiko win now puts them at 46-28.

Takaoka got a game-changing hit from Ron Knight. The second baseman blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 15th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"Our team found a way to get it done," said Knight.
