Guerrero Delivers Walk-Off Win for Shiko
|
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Takaoka Shiko pitcher Simon Etter was in top form, leading his team past the Rosarito Monjas del Vuelo, 2-0. Takaoka reliever Tokutomi Okumura was the winner. His record is now 3-5. The losing pitcher was Emmett Rowe.
Takaoka got a clutch hit from Oliverio Guerrero. The left fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Etter said in his postgame press conference.
With the win, Takaoka upped its record to 39-27.
