Grizzlies Snatch Late Win
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Ballpark of West Valley City.
The West Valley City Grizzlies overcame a good performance by Kyoto second baseman Gertrudes Balazes to knock off Kyoto, 6-5, at Ballpark of West Valley City. Balazes was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The second-place Grizzlies now have a record of 49-49.
Koin Kouno was the walk-off hero for West Valley City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grizzlies catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Kouno said.
