Gigans Beat Lakota, 4-1, Behind Erwin
|
Niigata and Sioux Falls duked it out and the Gigans came out victorious.
The Niigata Gigans knocked off the Sioux Falls Lakota, 4-1, in Rocky Mountain League action at Lakota Ballpark. Niigata pitcher and Wichita, Kansas, native Steve Erwin had an outstanding performance. The second-place Gigans now have a record of 48-39.
Erwin earned the win to move to 8-6. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 8 and walking 0. The right-hander allowed the Lakota few scoring opportunities.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Erwin. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
