8-2 Skyelanders Win over Waxers Evens Season Record
|
Glendale Skyelanders starter Mario Marino pitched well against the Chandler Waxers at Skyelanders Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 8-2. The winner was Marino. He threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Fraser MacDuff. At 41-41, the Skyelanders claim 4th place in the Rocky Mountain League West.
Sadakuno Arai had a big 2-run home run for the Skyelanders in the bottom of the third inning. With Glendale trailing 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from Fraser MacDuff, who leads the RML in complete games with 2, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 16th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Skyelanders ahead, 3-2.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Arai.
