Lincoln pitcher Gary Ross had a large part in his team beating the Sioux Falls Lakota, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ross, now 4-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The third-place Emancipation lifted their record to 42-36.

Lincoln used a well-timed hit by Pu-feng Shuo to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Emancipation ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

Said Sioux Falls manager Jorge Garza: "We weren't able to do much."
