Sun Dogs Fall, 5-1, to Carbajal, Lakers
|
The Racine Lakers bested the Thornton Sun Dogs, 5-1, at Laker Stadium. Miguel Carbajal was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Racine starter Cliff Wagner was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-7. With the win, the Lakers have a record of 40-36.
Carbajal contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Racine in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Carbajal took a fastball from Xisto Tamayo and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Lakers to leap in front, 4-1.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Carbajal said.
