The home crowd had a good time watching the Yokohama Plumbers and Shizuoka Anguirus get after it.
Yokohama got a decent performance from pitcher Sotatsu Kobayashi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Shizuoka Anguirus. Shizuoka won the Ballpark of Shizuoka contest, 4-2. Kobayashi threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Min-yul Pak picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Sotatsu Kobayashi, who is tied for 7th in the RML in strikeouts with 80, was tagged with the loss. Mal Schmidt recorded the save, his 2nd.
The Anguirus got a big at-bat from designated hitter José Romero. For the game, Romero was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Shizuoka a 2-0 lead.
After the game, Shizuoka manager Ward Davis applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Anguirus saw their record improve to 26-40.
