Lakers Defeat Skyelanders, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring game between the Racine Lakers and the Glendale Skyelanders, pitcher Ramón Noriega was masterful on the mound. The Racine right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. Fraser MacDuff earned the save for Racine, his 14th. The Lakers raised their record to 34-29.
Racine relied on the hitting of Rob Rutledge to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lakers on top, 2-0. For the game, Rutledge had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"This was a tough loss," said Glendale manager Michael Johnson. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
