The West Valley City Grizzlies defeated the Niigata Gigans, 10-4, in Rocky Mountain League action at Gigans Ballpark. West Valley City pitcher Jonah Wellon had a standout performance. West Valley City raised its record to 32-26 with the win.

West Valley City won the game in part because of Ernesto Machado. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-0. For the game, Machado had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Wellon said after the game.
