|
Keith Russell pitched well, but the Yasu Storks still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Waimalu Nene at Field of the Storks. Bob Cooper, the winner, is now 1-1. He struck out 3 and walked 3 over 5 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Micheal McShane closed the game out for Waimalu, earning his 8th save.
The Nene got a big at-bat from right fielder Sinclair Krijger. For the game, Krijger was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Waimalu a 2-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Krijger told reporters after the game.
Waimalu now sits at 20-16, while Yasu falls to 15-21.
