The Monsters grabbed a win, 7-2, at Brewers Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Kobayashi pitcher Kai-ge Tai. Tai went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Kauai is third in the Hawaiian League Archipelago with a record of 20-17.

Tomoyuki Taniguchi helped out the Kauai cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Taniguchi after the game.
