Fans watched the Ewa Beach Imperialists and the Kauai Monsters fight to the finish.

In a tension-filled contest between the Ewa Beach Imperialists and the Kauai Monsters, pitcher Kan Nishikawa was superb. The Ewa Beach left-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the HL in wins with 4, spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Dong-hak Park wrapped it up, recording his 4th save.

Nishikawa was in the zone, shutting down Kauai hitters over 6.2 innings. Nishikawa, who threw 76 pitches, allowed no runs on 1 hit. He also tallied 7 punchouts.

"Kan is a tough competitor," said Ewa Beach manager Jonathan Cook.

Ewa Beach goes to 22-13, Kauai to 18-17.
