Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Lana'i City Pineapples and Kilauea Volcanoes.

Lana'i City pitcher Juan Rúbio had a large part in his team subduing the Kilauea Volcanoes, 4-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Rúbio yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-4.

The Pineapples got a big at-bat from shortstop Ryosei Matsumoto. For the game, Matsumoto was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Lana'i City a 3-0 lead.
