The Maui Mahi-Mahi overcame a good performance by Hilo center fielder Edgardo Huertas to knock off Hilo, 7-3, at Hilo Ballpark. Huertas was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. At 11-20, the Mahi-Mahi claim 5th place in the Hawaiian League Archipelago.

Maui used a well-timed hit by Takashi Iitsuka to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mahi-Mahi ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Iitsuka told a Maui Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
