The Kobayashi Fireflies defeated the Waimalu Nene, 10-4, at Waimalu Grounds. Kobayashi was led by 23-year old shortstop Ed Brown, who was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Munro Torr. He tossed 89 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Nick Lutz finished the game for Kobayashi and earned his 1st save.

Kobayashi used the stroke of Sonny Brooks to get the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Fireflies ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Brooks told the Kobayashi Daily News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."

With the win, the Fireflies have a record of 13-16.
