Mauna Loa got a terrific performance from pitcher Javier Macías, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kauai Monsters. Kauai won the Recoil Stadium contest, 2-1. Macías threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Luke MacRory snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 3.1 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Getting the save was Lucas Olinger, his 2nd.

Kauai took the lead, 2-1, on Abel Parent's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Mauna Loa pitcher Javier Macías in the top of the seventh.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Juan Flores.

Kauai bumps their record to 16-12 with the win.
