The Kobayashi Fireflies and Ewa Beach Imperialists rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

The Kobayashi Fireflies beat the Ewa Beach Imperialists, 6-5, at Blacksnakes Ballpark. Glen Joseph, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kobayashi reliever Nick Lutz picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Dong-hak Park was tagged with the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Sonny Brooks in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Dong-hak Park to win the game for Kobayashi. The home crowd went nuts.

Kobayashi manager Eduardo Gonzáles was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.

The defeat makes Ewa Beach 18-8.
